Pupils at a High Wycombe girls’ school have been praised after collecting items to donate to various charities around the area at their annual Harvest Festival.
Girls at Pipers Corner School in Pipers Lane donated food and household products for different charities of their choice, with each ‘house’ bringing a decorated hamper as a symbol of all the items that were “generously” donated.
Hampden House chose to support Wycombe Night Shelter, the girls in Penn House donated gifts for Oxford Homeless, while Milton House girls donated to food bank One Can Trust in High Wycombe.
Mandeville House followed their “long-established” practice of taking harvest baskets full of tins and packets of food to people in need in the community, and also to sheltered housing Nancy Hall Court in Cressex.
Girls in the pre-prep department also baked together and created a harvest loaf complete with little mice.
