"The Industrial Strategy makes clear the need to extend
support across all parts of the country, recognising the varied
strengths that different places have.
“That’s
why we’re making £1.8billion available through the Local Growth Fund,
with the first awards announced today to the Northern Powerhouse and
those to other areas, including £392m for Local Enterprise Partnerships
in the Midlands, due very shortly.
“This is on top of the forthcoming Midlands Engine Strategy, which will look to make the most of the region’s potential.”
